People send $1. I take those dollars with me, meet people along the way, ask what would actually help, and use them to make something positive happen.

The dollar goes with the project. The answer comes from the people I meet.
Contributions go with One Dollar Further as I travel. I meet people, listen, and decide what makes sense on the ground instead of assuming the answer before I arrive.
Sometimes it’s books or equipment. Sometimes it helps solve a real problem. Sometimes the kids just want footballs and ice cream.
That’s kind of the point. Both count.
Then I share what happened, what it cost, and where the project goes next.
I’M NOT AN AID WORKER.
I’M NOT AN EXPERT.
But I can show up.
I can meet people with a smile and an open mind. I can listen. I can ask what would actually help.
I WANT TO SEE WHAT A LITTLE KINDNESS CAN ACTUALLY DO.
I’ve always been a curious person. I love discovering new countries, cultures, food and places, but most of all, I love meeting people I probably never would have crossed paths with otherwise.
The more of the world I get to see, the more I realize how much we actually have in common. A random conversation, sharing a meal, being welcomed somewhere new, or simply having a laugh with someone on the other side of the world can completely change how you see a place.
And somewhere along the way, I started thinking about how amazing it would be to give something back too.
Not by pretending I can fix everything, but by seeing what a little kindness, curiosity and a few dollars can actually do.

I’m Christian André Skoland, 29, from Stavanger, Norway.
I’ve always been curious about the world, different cultures, food, history, and the people who make every place different.
I came up with One Dollar Further while backpacking through Asia, and decided to see if a simple idea could actually become something real.
Right now, there’s no big organization or team behind it. It’s just me, an idea, and a willingness to see how far we can take it.
